Depression.

If you are experiencing a low mood or no longer feel joy while pursuing activities in your life you could be struggling with depression. You are not alone. Major depression affects approximately 5.4% of the Canadian population. Depression may be triggered by a difficult event such as loosing a job, the end of a relationship, or other major life stressors. However, in some cases, depression may come out of the blue and may not be trigged by anything in particular. An important point to remember about depression is that you can’t just “snap out of it” or make it go away. Depression is a real illness and the leading cause of suicide.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is one of the most evidence based treatments for Depression. With a Registered Psychologist, you will learn tools to activate yourself and re-engage in activities that you may have been avoiding due to your low mood.
